When presentation excellence is paramount, a quality prompting system is indispensible.
A prompter ensures a confident presentation by providing the script to the speaker as its required and ensuring contact is maintained with the audience.
Prompt displays are mounted in front of the presenter to display script on a reflective glass surface fitted to the front of a camera (camera prompter) or an audience (speech prompter). The script is displayed several lines at a time and scrolls vertically like the credits at the end of a movie.
Electronic prompting eliminates the need to memorize a script or prepare cue cards, and greatly improves eye contact between the speaker and the audience. Quality prompters cut video production costs by reducing the number of takes required to produce a professional finished product.

The FCC has spoken. Under provisions in the Telecommunications Act of 1996, virtually all television programming has to be transmitted with closed captions effective the first of this year, with few exceptions. (The FCC has set separate schedules for analog TV programming existing before January 1998 and digital programming existing before July 2002). Youll be getting programming that already contains closed captioning from your various content providers, but what about programming that is produced locally? Tekskil prompting applications will ensure all your locally originated material is in compliance. Once you have created your scripts, its an easy matter to add Closed Captioning... Field crews produce a vital and growing share of broadcast production, and the need to shoot quality and time-effective footage outside the studio has become a major challenge. Retakes are the big headache for most shoots with mangled script delivery almost always the culprit. The answer seems obvious drag along the studio prompter. Unfortunately, its not that easy experienced crews know that prompters dont work well in the field for a host of reasons: not bright enough to read, difficult to set up, and too fragile to carry in the truck... As more stations move to HDTV and deal with the requirements of HDTV programming, broadcasters are discovering their existing studio prompters are not up to the task especially when wide-angle 16:9 lenses are being used. We keep hearing about LCD nitsas the measure of their brightness. What does it mean in the real world? For example, how many nits are needed for an LCD to perform well outdoors? Its simple the number of nits wont tell you how a flat panel will perform. Its more than nits - image brightness and clarity is the bottom line for the end user. And image brightness and clarity are determined by the LCDs light output (nits), its Contrast Ratio and how it manages the ambient light. Heres how that works... Read More About Tekskil Prompters >>

We also live in an age of ever increasing litigation and regulation, so a lot of information has to be presented in very precise terms. People speaking extemporaneously, or from memory often forget an important point or overstate another. With Speech Prompting, the words can be the same every time... Teleprompters are the technical solution to imperfect human memory their main function is to deliver script to the presenter as it is needed. Visual prompting systems consist of two components, a display device and a storage/control device. Displays can be either CRT,Plasma, or LCD their task is to present smoothly scrolling and readable text (similar to credits at the end of a movie). As the text is read by the presenter (to a camera or live audience), a prompter operator uses a controller to vary the speed of the scrolling text to match the delivery rate of the speaker...
