When presentation excellence is paramount, a quality prompting system is indispensible.
A prompter ensures a confident presentation by providing the script to the speaker as its required and ensuring contact is maintained with the audience.
Prompt displays are mounted in front of the presenter to display script on a reflective glass surface fitted to the front of a camera (camera prompter) or an audience (speech prompter). The script is displayed several lines at a time and scrolls vertically like the credits at the end of a movie.
Electronic prompting eliminates the need to memorize a script or prepare cue cards, and greatly improves eye contact between the speaker and the audience. Quality prompters cut video production costs by reducing the number of takes required to produce a professional finished product.

As more stations move to HDTV and deal with the requirements of HDTV programming, broadcasters are discovering their existing studio prompters are not up to the task – especially when wide-angle 16:9 lenses are being used. Big lenses capture a lot of image, even when it’s not wanted – like the sides of the prompter hood & beamsplitter and prompting monitor. To get the most from wide angle lenses without clipping the camera image - an ultra wide beamsplitter is required. Tekskil has engineered the widest format viewing head in the industry - an impressive ‘picture window prompter’ for your talent. Pushing the camera and lens forward doesn’t buy much relief – and likely has changed the center of gravity and introduced stability problems, even with the addition of added counterweights. An affordable LCD prompting solution designed to replace your aging CRT prompter monitors!
Most CRT prompting systems in use today are approaching ten years of age or more, and, unlike fine wine, they do not get better with age. High voltage leakage, poor contrast, and fading phosphors add up to a prompter your talent strains to read. If the beamsplitter and prompter platform are still in good shape, you may want to consider replacing the troublesome Black & White CRT with a full color LCD. But before one of the technicians heads over to Circuit City or your local Discount Warehouse - be aware that consumer LCD's aren't going to provide a satisfying replacement. Beside the obvious issues of kluging mechanical mounts for a plastic case, dealing with RCA video jacks,and adding some electronics to flip the image - consumer panels are simply not powerful enough to provide a satisfying display for your talent. Since the system's beamsplitter gobbles up at least half the light output from the prompter display, the replacement LCD panel will need light output levels two to three times brighter than consumer units...
